One of the highest recognitions in academic pharmacy is the Rufus A. Lyman Award, established in 1969 to recognize the best paper published each year in the Journal. It is named for the first Editor of the Journal, who served in that role from 1937 until 1955. At the end of each calendar year, a call for nominations is sent to each of the Association's Sections and Special Interest Groups (SIGs) as well as to the Editorial Board and AACP Board of Directors members. Nominations are also accepted from the individual AACP members. The award winner is determined by a selection committee appointed by the AACP president which evaluates nominated papers based on utility and significance to pharmacy education, originality, research methodology, and writing style. The Award was first given in 1969 and has been given out every year since. As a part of our commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Journal, we wanted to recognize all past Lyman Award winners.
