Council of Deans Task Forces
1. Joint COF/COD Task Force on Accelerating Change in Curricular and Practice Transformation
a. Charge: The task force will explore, critically review, identify and propose new strategies that could be employed by AACP and its member schools to accelerate the implementation of change within pharmacy curricula and practice innovation in order to be more responsive to the rapid challenges posed by the ACA and the health care industry.

c. Update: Considerable progress has been made by this Task Force including:
• Draft report has been completed entitled, AACP as a Catalyst for Accelerating Change in Pharmacy Education and Practice
• The draft report described above will be presented to the AACP Board during the Interim Meeting
• Pat Kroboth and Marie Smith will present this report to a combined session of the COF/COD to be followed by a facilitated open discussion at the Interim Meeting
• Program on this topic will be presented by the COF/COD for the upcoming annual meeting.
2. Pharmacist Recruitment and Admissions Task Force
a. Charge: The Pharmacist Recruitment and Admissions Task Force should review the recommendations of the 2013-2015 AACP Special Committee on Admissions to make recommendations to the members of the Council of Deans and to the Association on how best to implement the recommendations. In addition, the Task Force should make specific recommendations to AACP and the academy as to needed strategies, resources, and practices to best position the academy and profession to appropriately address the readiness of future pharmacists to meet the rapidly changing needs of the US health care system.

• Considerable discussion across the academy continues around this issues with particular emphasis on branding
COD Programming at the AACP Annual Meeting
The following COD sessions will be held at the AACP Annual Meeting on July 23-27 in Anaheim, California:
COD Business Meeting, Monday, July 25, 1:30 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.
All Members of the Council of Deans are invited to attend this session in which reports on current and future council priorities will be presented.
Joint COD/COF Special Session: Capitalizing on Opportunities in Health Care by Accelerating Change in Academic Pharmacy, Monday, July 25, 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
The Affordable Care Act has created a period of unprecedented change in the U.S. health care system. The dynamics of reform create exciting opportunities for the profession and the academic pharmacy community. This session will explore the imperative to accelerate change in academic pharmacy and discuss strategies that effectuate the rate of change in organizations and across communities. Additionally, this session will highlight the role of AACP in supporting change efforts across member institutions.
