To the Editor: We recognize that psychometric rigor is needed in educational assessment, and respect Dr. Peeters’ and Dr. Hayes’ feedback and comments regarding the psychometric reliability of the multiple mini-interview (MMI) utilized in our study. Although not reported in our study, inter-rater reliability had previously been performed with our MMI questions and rubric.1 This was our oversight in not reporting these results in our original research paper. It is our desire to begin further psychometric testing of our MMI questions and rubric, and we hope our study serves as a basis for future research. We recommend reporting of the reliability, validity, and measurement error in future research evaluating the MMI.
